Graduating from Brock University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Douglas quickly immersed himself in the lumber industry. It wasn’t long before a role on the Joint Health and Safety Committee uncovered a deep-seated passion for ensuring worker safety. This role highlighted the importance of comprehensive workplace safety measures and served as the foundation for a lifelong commitment to health and safety. 

Transitioning to the transportation sector, Douglas transformed a rudimentary health and safety policy into a full-fledged program. This initiative didn’t just meet standards; it exceeded them, fostering a culture of safety among warehouse staff, drivers, and office personnel. As an in-house trainer, his influence became pivotal in nurturing an environment where safety training was not just a requirement but a core aspect of the company culture.
